Whilst transparency of ingredients and nutritional data is mandatory on food and non alcoholic drink products, why is it that alcoholic products don’t have to display this information?
Thankfully for our customers we wanted to be transparent and quite frankly we are proud to shout about the nutritional values and content of our drinks.
We’ve strived to create a great tasting product that is low in fat and sugar, providing customers with all the information to make an informed choice.
Action in sugar carried out a survey which they produced a review on in 2020.* Of 194 products they collected in store only 63 products had some form of nutritional information on the product and only 14 of those products had sugar information available.
What’s scarier is that due to the lack of information about these products Action in Sugar commissioned independent lab analysis of 21 products and the results are terrifying.
The highest amounts of sugar found is some ready to drink alcoholic drinks totalled 49.1g of sugar per pack (this drink was a 500ml product) - thats more than 12 teaspoons of sugar.
The average amount of sugar in a 250ml drink was 15g - that’s about 6 teaspoons of sugar in a small 250ml can, still far too much, especially if you have a few of them.
The good news is our product is not only low in sugar, but the sugar content is derived from fruit - so sit back and enjoy!
